How do AI credits work?
AI actions use credits from your included monthly pool based on the model and the amount of text processed. Typical costs are about 5 credits for auto project setup, 2 for release notes, and 1 for convert-to-task, but smaller jobs can use less and larger jobs can use more. You see an estimate before each action, and unused credits don't roll over when the pool resets.
What happens if I run out of credits?
AI features are gated until your pool refills next billing cycle. Non-AI features included in your plan keep working normally. You can also upgrade mid-cycle to unlock a bigger pool immediately.
Do collaborators count as paid seats?
No. Frostbyte uses flat workspace pricing. You pay one price per plan, never per seat. Each plan includes a set number of collaborators per project (Indie 5, Studio 10), and everyone within that allowance is covered by the same flat price.
Whose AI credit pool does a project use?
The project owner's pool. Their monthly credits are shared across the projects they own, and collaborators use that same pool when they run AI inside those projects. Collaborators aren't billed separately.
Can I cancel or downgrade anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your billing settings. No contracts, no exit fees. If you downgrade to Free your data stays intact, but you're capped to Free's limits (1 project, 100 active tasks, 40 AI credits/month).
What's the difference between MCP and the Frostbyte agent?
MCP is the protocol that lets your existing AI agent (Claude Code, Codex) read and update your Frostbyte workspace. The Frostbyte agent is a built-in chat assistant inside Frostbyte itself, for users without a coding agent, or who want a workspace-aware chat alongside one.
Is there a free trial of paid plans?
The Free plan is forever-free with no credit card required. It includes the Feedback Portal in bugs-only mode. Indie adds feature suggestions, general feedback, community voting, a public roadmap, and a hosted Hub URL. Studio adds custom domains, embedding, and branding controls. A standalone trial of Indie and Studio is on the roadmap.
